Another Mentor Initiative Dinner!

A common practice of The Mentor Initiative is to host dinners with students OR with students and their Mentors. Recently two students, Henry Dierkes and Micah Hoehner, had dinner with three members of CUW’s faculty: Scott Niederjohn, Ph.D., Dean of The Batterman School of Business, Dr. Van Mobley, and Professor Lars M. Lewander, MBA. The discussion at dinner focused on the skills needed to succeed in Investment Management. This was the eighth dinner hosted by the Founder of The Mentor Initiative, John Benson and his wife Barb.

CU Launch Kickoff Event

Daniel Sem is the former Dean of the School of Business at Concordia University Wisconsin and one of the organizations he leads is CU Ventures. CU Ventures provides business school students who are thinking about establishing their own businesses with an opportunity to “pitch” their ideas to individuals with available investment capital. This is a unique opportunity to not only get an indication of how investors evaluate your ideas but to have access to something all entrepreneurs need——investment capital.

If you have a business idea that you believe can be profitable and make an impact, attend the CU Launch Kickoff Event on September 16th! Please email Daniel Sem at daniel.sem@cuw.edu if you have a business idea or any further questions.

Economics, Politics, and Philosophy On The Bluff

One of the things we are able to do is notify Concordia University Wisconsin students who are participating in The Mentor Initiative as well as all students in the Batterman School of Business about special events.

Professor Scott Niederjohn, Ph.D. has created a speaker series that is bringing nationally known speakers to CUW. This is an opportunity for you to listen to and meet some well-known business leaders. We would encourage all of you to take advantage of these opportunities.
